The International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) is a unit of the Poynter Institute from St. Petersburg, Florida, an internationally renowned journalism school. IFCN was launched in September 2015 to support the many worldwide fact-checking initiatives, encourage best practices and exchanges. To date, there are 78 IFCN signatories. In order to become an IFCN member, a fact-checking organization must abide by the following Commitments: 

• Non-partisanship and fairness 

• Transparency of sources 

• Transparency of funding & organization 

• Transparency of methodology 

• Open & honest correction policy 

Among IFCN members are such news organization such as Le Monde or FactCheck. The only Canadian signatory is Les Décrypteurs at Radio-Canada. The full list of signatories is here.
